When I worked in the corporate sector, I was a bit of a corporate identity expert. Today, we know that niche as BRANDING. Essentially, it's a matter of making sure anything you put out (in the corporate world, that means mailers, brochures, letters, user manuals, etc.) is easily and immediately identifiable as belonging to you.... I'm part German. I know that probably surprises you, given I constantly blather on and on about my Italian roots. (As an aside, I did write a novella about Irish-Americans, given I'm part Irish, too—on my dad's side. I'm a veritable melting pot because of him.) So, other than October 12 when we go hardcore... Despite having a background in marketing, I'm unaccustomed to promoting myself. A company or product? Sure. But me? I can't really wrap my head around selling me and my own work. You can imagine my surprise when, as a new novelist, someone asked to interview me. Me! I've had some really good reviews for my... Continue Reading →
