When I worked in the corporate sector, I was a bit of a corporate identity expert. Today, we know that niche as BRANDING. Essentially, it’s a matter of making sure anything you put out (in the corporate world, that means mailers, brochures, letters, user manuals, etc.) is easily and immediately identifiable as belonging to you.Continue reading “Multiple Fiction Genres and a Guest Post”

Oktoberfic
I’m part German. I know that probably surprises you, given I constantly blather on and on about my Italian roots. (As an aside, I did write a novella about Irish-Americans, given I’m part Irish, too—on my dad’s side. I’m a veritable melting pot because of him.) So, other than October 12 when we go hardcoreContinue reading “Oktoberfic”
Christmas in July—Books Make Great Gifts
You may not be shoveling snow and sipping hot chocolate (unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, of course), but the Christmas in July concept isn’t a foreign one to anyone by now. What better way than to celebrate with the gift of words? It’s the Christmas in July Book Promo! This promo has grown andContinue reading “Christmas in July—Books Make Great Gifts”
New Friends, Old Stories, Wonderful Memories
I get homesick a lot. I live nearly 1,000 miles from where I grew up, and sometimes it feels like 1,000,000. I knew all my neighbors—heck, I think I was related to half the town. Now I don’t even know my next door neighbors’ names. So I spend a lot of time talking to writersContinue reading “New Friends, Old Stories, Wonderful Memories”

The trouble was, I didn’t actually like the wordsContinue reading “360° in 365”
Guest Post on Mystery Ink
I’m delighted to have been invited over to the Mystery Ink site today. Please come visit me at the Mystery Ink Novels blog, where I’ll be discussing the roll of relationships in a mystery novel. Hope to see you there!
What a Great Week!
Maybe good things do happen in threes. On Wednesday, there was a box from my publisher sitting on my porch, and look what was inside… My novel (previously only available in e-format), in print. Now I’m at the OCW Writer’s Conference, meeting new people and having a blast. I wish every week could be this good.
Wow… Two Days in a Row!
Despite having a background in marketing, I’m unaccustomed to promoting myself. A company or product? Sure. But me? I can’t really wrap my head around selling me and my own work. You can imagine my surprise when, as a new novelist, someone asked to interview me. Me! I’ve had some really good reviews for myContinue reading “Wow… Two Days in a Row!”
What an Honor…
A big thank you goes out to Tammy Snyder at ArkansasBookReviewer.com. She recently reviewed my novel, Mystery, Ink.: Mystery Heir, and featured me and my book on her website. You can read all about it here. I hope you check out her site. It’s a wonderful collection of book reviews, contests, and author spotlights. ThankContinue reading “What an Honor…”
