Ciao, amici. I’m still catching up on work and trying not to dwell on things that hurt. But I think you’ll find my problems aren’t far from mind.
I wrote a story for the latest Vocal challenge. If (when?) you read it, you’ll understand where my head and heart are. Even in fiction, I can’t get away from it.
I’d greatly appreciate any hearts, comments, shares. You know the drill, if you’re so inclined.
The prompt for this challenge is:
Write a fiction story (600 to 5,000 words) from the perspective of a wall that can talk.
You must begin with
“If walls could talk.”
I’d love to hear your thoughts. You can find my story by clicking the link: Voices of the Past. Grazie!
Wow, so very descriptive Staci. I could feel the granite being formed and how it felt to be used.

That was great, Staci. I loved the intensity of the language and the “character.” That wall sure could talk. And a great little story embedded in there, I liked the tie to the theme at the end. I’m glad the wall found some peace. Well done!

As I was writing the ending, I was thinking about your series on endings over at Story Empire. I do like those tie-backs.
Thanks, Diana.

Walls talking immediately make me think of the Peanuts characters talking to the walls of their school, lol. But this was powerful, Staci. I figured out the type of building, but that ending surprised me – which I loved!

I don’t often write from the perspective of an inanimate object, so this was an experiment of sorts. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you, Balroop.
