New #shortstory: GHOSTS OF LEATH LAKE @vocal_creators

Ciao, amici! I took a little break from Vocal after the eight-stories-in-eight-weeks challenge. I was busy and a wee bit burned out.

But I’m back to it!

It’s October, which means horror stories abound, and I couldn’t miss an opportunity to stretch my scare muscles a bit.

If you like that sort of thing, you might want to check out my latest short, an entry on the Foggy Waters challenge.

Once again, a quick reminder: The entries are judged by a qualified panel, but if there’s a tie, votes are the tie-breaker, so if you click the [♡] button, you might be doing me a favor.

If you’re interested in reading this week’s story (Ghosts of Leath Lake), you can find it here.

If you missed any of my stories and would like to read them, you can check out my full Vocal library here.

And if you’re considering becoming a content creator on Vocal, I hope you’ll consider using my referral link, which earns me a small stipend and a lot of good will.

As always, I appreciate the support, and if you read the story, I hope you enjoy it. Grazie!

  1. The snap of the twig scared me already, Staci. Well-written Halloween tale. I gave you a heart. I can go back to give you more hearts. I didn’t expect the quick twist of the ending. Thank goodness, our nearby lake closed at 6:00 p.m.

  2. You nailed it with this one, Staci. I think that was one of your best Vocal stories ever and that’s saying a LOT given how much I enjoyed all of them. The tension was off the charts and the ending was brilliant.
