The Forgotten

Ciao, amici, y felice anno nuovo!

I hope you all had a wonderful winter break, and if you celebrated any holidays, that you enjoyed them. Personally, I enjoyed my time with family, though I didn’t get to see as many of them as I would have liked. (I suspect the same is true for many of you, and I’m sorry for that.) I also did a lot of “catch up” and “get ahead” work while I wasn’t online, so my break wasn’t as restful as I’d have liked, but at least I checked off a few to-do items.

One thing I’m happy to announce is the surprise I teased at the end of last year.

The Forgotten

The Astral Conspiracy series has a companion piece. And it’s PERMAFREE. It’s a standalone novella, so you don’t have to have read the series to understand this story, and you don’t have to read the novella if you read the series. They are separate, though related. My hope is that if you read the free novella first, you’ll be enticed to read the series. But more importantly, if you already read the series, the free novella is my way of saying “grazie” for going on that journey with me. In any case, if you’d like to check it out, you can find it here or read more about it on my website.

I usually try to do a “state of the union” (the union being me) post at the beginning of the year. This year, most of what I have going on is secret, so I can’t really talk about it. I can say I’ll be writing more this year than I did last year, and last year was my biggest writing year ever. So, if you thought I published a lot in 2020, I hope you don’t get sick of me in 2021. Assuming I hit all my targets. Fingers crossed!

What I can tell you is the next books I’ll be publishing will be thrillers. I already have the covers for the series. (They are CREEPY!) Two of the books are complete, the third is a quarter of the way done. Once I finish the trilogy, the publishers will work their magic, then I can tell you all about them. This time, things are a little different, but more on that soon. I hope you like dark and twisted.

So, 2020 was sad and busy. Not much of a surprise there. And 2021 is shaping up to be even more busy. I hope it’s not nearly as sad. It’s starting out with a release, and a few more soon, so that’s a plus.

What about you? What do you have on your calendars for 2021? Let’s talk about it.

And again, felice anno nuovo! Saluti!

  2. Happy New Year, Staci! I picked up my copy of “The Forgotten,” and look forward to reading it. You had a very busy year in 2020 and how exciting that 2021 holds brand new and exciting releases ahead from you. 2020 was a mixed emotion year for me. Getting picked up by a publisher in the midst of this pandemic was most unexpected and such a wonderful surprise. Having them release my first book in 2020 was even more of a surprise. So, even though I missed all of my wonderful music adventures in 2020, it was a good year for me in the literary world. I’m looking forward to whatever 2021 has in store! Best wishes to you!

  3. I’m in awe of how much you write, Staci. I have my fingers crossed that everything you hope to accomplish in 2021 falls into place as planned, and I look forward to hearing more when you can reveal the details.

I loved Astral Conspiracy. Thanks for the free novella. I am already halfway through The Forgotten. It’s very intriguing!

  4. You are a writing machine, Staci! Happy New Year!

Last year, started off with a bang. This year’s been more of a slow burn, but during my (short) break, I did a lot of organizing and house keeping stuff that I’d put off for far too long. Now that it’s done I’m ready to rock ‘n roll again.

  5. Happy New Year, Staci. Your new release rests on my Kindle, to be read very soon. Congratulations on your thriller series. I bet 2020 prompted a lot of writers to change gears and craft thrillers. What a year!! May we all experience multiple blessings during 2021. 💗

    1. Thanks. But I see your point. Very little is working for me at the moment, too. Except for actually working every day. So I just keep my fingers on the keys and clacking away. (I feel like the monkey who accidentally typed Shakespeare’s masterpiece. Only I’m not a monkey. And I’m not nearly as talented as Shakespeare. I just keep typing like that proverbial primate and hoping to be so lucky.) I hope we all move past “wonky” pretty darn soon.

    1. I think “wonky” might be my word of the decade, but I just keep plugging along. I don’t really have any choice in the matter. But you’re so right about the “sanity” part.

      Thanks, Charles.
