Happy National Author’s Day!

Happy National Author's Day!

Ciao, amici! I’ll be keeping this one short and sweet. It’s National Author’s Day, so I wanted to do a few things.

  1. Wish all authors, and particularly my author friends, a happy day.
  2. Encourage readers to celebrate by reading a book by a new-to-you author.
  3. Ask you to honor authors today by leaving thoughtful reviews.

That’s it. I’ve had family in town for a few days, so I’ve been mostly offline and I have a lot of catching up to do. I’ll be visiting the aforementioned author friends on their blogs, and then I’ll be playing catch up at work.

It’s a good thing I like my job!ย

    1. You know, I thought that exact thing about NaNo. I even wondered if that’s why November was chosen or if NaNo was why the Author’s Day date was chosen, but I was too busy to look up the history of either.

I had a fabulous time during the visit. Thanks for asking. And thanks so much for dropping by!

      1. You bet. I often listen to the Beatles channel on my drive to work. (Imagine that!). Thereโ€™s a show called Beatles for breakfast at 7:00 and the host gives names of all the national days. Missed that one.

    1. It was serendipity that I learned of it. I was going to go to the All Saints Day vigil, but I opted to go in the morning, instead. I left earlier than usual because I was concerned about driving in the dark and in the rain during rush hour, especially with school bus traffic. And I had on a radio station that I don’t always listen to. All of those events were the perfect storm that led me to the DJ mentioning what day it was. It’s like I was supposed to hear it.

The visit was wonderful and too fast and I’m sad it’s already over. Already looking forward to the next one. Thanks for asking.

      1. Lol. When I didn’t hear back from you I searched your website until I found the name, then plugged it into Amazon and came up with… nothing. Tried again, and again. The third time I found an author page, but no books, so I decided to wait until morning (this was after midnight) and try again.
        Now I know it wasn’t me ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Nothing wrong with returning to your favorites. They were new to you at some point until you tried their works.

For the record, my TBRL is overflowing with new-to-me authors, too. And as I work through them, I’m finding I’m really enjoying some of them.
