Ciao, amici! Can you believe we’re just two and a half weeks from Halloween? I feel like we just celebrated New Year’s Day. I guess as we grow older, time really does pass faster.
I need to make more time to enjoy it.
This week, though, was work-heavy. A lot of editing, a lot of outlining. Even some graphics work. I intend to get back to writing on Monday, but I think (for a change) I’m going to take the weekend off and just try to enjoy life.
Vivian Greene had it right:
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…
It’s about learning to dance in the rain.
I may not be a good dancer, but I’m going to channel my inner Debbie Reynolds (that’s right; I’m showing my age with that reference and I don’t care), grab my raincoat, and enjoy the storm.
And now, this week’s writing links:

Have a great weekend! Arrivederci!
I’d never heard this quote before, but now it’s my new favorite. Hope you had a great weekend, Staci – and I don’t want to make you jealous, but my son was at the Steelers game, proudly wearing his Steelers jersey.

Oh, I’m so glad you liked the quote!
Your son chose a great game to go to. And I’m thrilled to know he wore the right colors!

It doesn’t hurt to take a few days off to give yourself a break. Chill and recharge! And OMG, we’re halfway through October already?! Yikes. Hope you had a relaxing weekend before getting back to it this week. Happy Writing!

It wasn’t too relaxing, but it was physical work rather than mental, so it was kind of a recharge of sorts, so I can’t complain. I hope you had a good one.

We’ve had a few days of rain in my neck of the woods and the temps have finally moved into fall weather. I spent today getting my fall clothes ready, then managed a few thousand words on the WIP. Hubby and I were up super early on Saturday and headed for our local Panera’s Bread when it was still dark outside. We had the whole place to ourselves. And, of course, it’s getting darker early at night. As Bob Dylan would say….”the times, they are a changing’.”
As usual, I’m chiming in late on a weekend, but I hope yours was fab!
P.S…..I didn’t see it, but DH said the Steelers win was awesome!

The Steelers did win, and it was a nail-biter. I was a wreck. I watched most of the game from the kitchen. (Having a big celebration this week and had some things to get ready.) But it was a win, so I’ll take it however I can get it.
Hope you had a good weekend. Can’t go wrong with Panera, especially when you have the place to yourself.

Love the quote. And good for you for taking the weekend off. I can’t believe it’s almost Halloween either.

I needed to not stare at my screen. My vision was blurry all day Friday, even through my glasses. Figured my eyes needed the break. I had things to do that I’d neglected at home, anyway.
Hope you had a good weekend.

Thanks, Bryan. I kind of like the rain, too. But we’ve had a lot of it. I just hope we get to see some pretty fall color before it all turns to brown and falls to the ground.

Lol–it’s been raining non-stop for the past 48 hours over here, so that video is more than a little pertinent 😀
Thank you for sharing 🙂

It has been raining here, too. In fact, I actually bought a raincoat today!

Seems like everyone has been super busy. Is this the modern human version of harvest season? We all seem to be cramming as much work as we can do into the next couple of weeks. Maybe it’s deeply ingrained in our workforce.

I feel like it’s been that way since Labor Day. Summer ended, and work picked up. And now we have the pre-holiday rush. I’m ready for a break!

I took some time off in November. I hope to move a couple of projects ahead then.

Lol, was having same conversation this week…. I’m still getting used to saying 2018, and in a minute it will be 2019. I love the quote, Staci. Have a relaxing weekend 😊

I love these old dance tunes! We’re going to do a tour of the Halloween decorations this weekend. Even though the kiddo is gone I think it’ll bring him close (in our hearts anyway).
Have a relaxing weekend, my friend 🙂
