Ciao, amici! Thanks for following me around this week. Next week won’t be nearly as hectic, although I still have a few posts that haven’t gone live yet.
Many of us are currently celebrating a three-day weekend with trips and picnics and anything we can think of to enjoy the last joys of summer. I hope you aren’t reading this as soon as it posts—I’d much rather know you’re somewhere having fun. But this is here for you when the frivolity is over and we’re all back to work.
I’ve got some great writing links for you this week.
As I mentioned, I was really busy. What I didn’t mention is that Neil Young was the first concert I ever saw in person. And how are these two things related, you ask? Well, this week’s quote is about busyness and is by Neil Young.
It’s better to burn out than to fade away.
Love or hate his music, working hard or lazy days… it doesn’t matter. He makes a good point. When we pursue our passions, we are fulfilled. And we possibly leave a legacy that will last long after we’re gone. If we aren’t devoting time to the things we love, we languish. And eventually fade away.
I’ll ALWAYS consider my family my greatest passion and my number one priority. And I was there for them this week. But I also devoted a lot (and I mean A LOT) of time to my other passion—my career. It was a rough week. And I am feeling a little burnt out. But I refuse to fade away.
And I hope you don’t, either.
Now, this week’s writing links:

I have my fingers crossed that this week will be easier for you. It’s rough to juggle so much and breaks are necessary–even if it means playing catch up later on. Wishing you all the best for a great week!

Thanks, Mae. I do have a little more breathing room this week, so that’s a good thing. It’s all about balance. I’ll figure it out eventually.

Let’s try and make it a slow burn, Traci. 😉
Wishing you huge success with Tortured Soul. I’ve added a shout out to my Wednesday post.
It’s so exciting to see another volume released! Hugs.

I’m good with a slow burn, Teagan. A little heat, but not enough to scorch. Lots of anticipation thrown in. I like it!
Thanks so much for the support. 🙂

I’m feeling a bit like that myself lately. I never took a proper break after finsishing my draft. There are just too many things to do. I often feel like I’m moving out of the blue and into the black.

I was just saying something similar to Joan. We need to do better for ourselves. Hope you get some needed rejuvenation this three-day weekend.

We have clouds and the hope of rain this morning after a smoky few weeks. I’ll take that as a good omen 🙂
Congrats again on your new release, I shared it in my newsletter this morning. Have a fabulous weekend!

Why, thanks so much, Jacquie. I took a few days off and email has built up, but I’ll look for it. I really appreciate that.
Glad your air quality might be taking a turn for the better, too.

Sounds like you’re ready for and need a long weekend. It feels like you’re balancing a mountain on your shoulders when everything hits at once. Life does that sometimes. Hope you can relax and enjoy for a few days.

I took two and a half days off. My eyes and fingers needed the break. Today will probably be all email and blog posts, then it’s back to “normal” tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing my post, Staci. In fact, I’m in the process of switching back to the WordPress Premium Plan. The loss of the reblog and/or press this button has done me in. Now, I’m waiting for them to restore my blog. I decided I would learn the new editor right along with everyone else. Further reading shared that the plugin to keep the old editor is only a short time fix. The business plan is more for selling a product and I’m a long way from doing that. I hope this helps everyone thinking about the upgrade. ❤

JetPack has a plugin that will give you the reblog button. But you need to do what’s right for you. Hoping it all works out for you! (I’m not looking forward that new editor, either.)

We feel like wer’e having a long weekend with the Bournemouth Air Festival coming at the end of the school holidays – Thursday to Sunday. With Family Team AK arriving on Wednesday evening from a camping expedition we have all been thinking Thursday was Saturday, Friday was Saturday…

Sorry you’re burnt out, Staci. Hopefully the three-day weekend will offer some recuperation time. Thanks for the links. Have a wonderful weekend 😊

Every time I take time off, I get behind. So today, while I typically would be enjoying the rare third day off, I’m cleaning out email. Still, it’s more relaxing than “working” would be, so I can’t complain. Hope you had a nice weekend.
