Bittersweet. That’s the only way I can describe it. I’m proud to have completed the final installment of the Medici Protectorate series, but I love this world so much, I’m sorry to see it end.
Tortured Soul is the fourth novel in the series. It follows the final member of the Brotherhood (Roberto “Coz” Cozza) and the youngest Medici descendant (Antonia “Toni” Notaro) as they prepare to fight the ultimate battle between good and evil.
The Notaros want nothing to do with their legacy or the power at their disposal. The Brotherhood wants only to keep them safe. And the evil mastermind and the nefarious organization he represents want to use the Medici lineage in their quest for world domination—or kill the girls and their protectors for standing in the way. This fast-paced, emotional journey wraps up in a dramatic way. If you like passion, intrigue, and international mystery, this one is for you.
More information can be found on the Tortured Soul webpage. Or you can preorder your copy today by clicking here.
I can’t wait. I’ve already ordered my copy.

Congrats, Staci! But bummer that the series is ending. I’m going to have to make sure the spin-off is on my list 😀

Thanks, Julie. I am struggling with goodbye. But the series was “done” and there was no point in extending it (other than to amuse myself, which readers would have hated).
Nightforce will be released under a pen name (long story that I’ll blog about later), but it comes out soon. Book one used to be called Password; it’s now called Hideaway and will be released under the name Keira Beck.

Staci, congratulations!! 🎉🎉 A short post for a huge achievement … well done on your latest book! I can hear your sadness of leaving this series but you have the joy of knowing so many will enjoy reading this last instalment! You description is compelling and I’m putting this series down to read! How could I resist … ‘This fast-paced, emotional journey wraps up in a dramatic way. If you like passion, intrigue, and international mystery, this one is for you.’ Wow!!

Wow. Thank you, Annika. That means the world to me. My editor told me the end made him a little misty-eyed, and we all know how men hold their emotions in check. If it affected him so deeply, I feel like I’ve done my job. I hope you come to agree with him.

Congratulations, Staci! I expect this world has more fabulous stories lurking around, but I get what you mean. We have to know when it’s time to leave our treasured worlds. I have a ton of catching up to do with your series. It sounds terrific! Wishing you huge success with this one. Hugs.

Thanks, Teagan. I appreciate that.
I actually have a lot of short stories from that series. My publisher asked for them for marketing tools, but they only ever published one of them, which (ironically) was a prequel without any of the contemporary characters. Who knows… maybe someday they’ll all get bundled into a big compendium/boxed set kind of thing.
In the meantime, I do get to visit the surviving characters in a new series (once in a while), so they’re not completely out of my life yet.

Thanks, Harmony. I have to say, while book one is important to me because of my grandfather and book two features my favorite Brother, my writing matured considerably in the latter two books. I think they are smoother reads. But I love the whole series. I’m actually a bit heartbroken to be done. (Good thing the guys revisit in the Nightforce Securities series!)

Harmony I’ve read the entire series (Tortured Soul in critique stage). They’re all excellent, but the last two books are my favorites. Like Staci, I’m sorry to see the series end and am glad the characters get to visit now and again in her new Nightforce Security series.

Mae has a bit of a soft spot for Nico (book 3). It always puts a smile on my face to learn readers respond to my characters so strongly.

A bit?!?!? Ya think?? 😀
Actually, Coz made a big impact on me, too (although he’ll never replace my number 1 guy in the Brotherhood)..

lol 🤣
I’ll be honest, Coz’s story was the one I was least looking forward to because he was the least emotionally-available of all of them. I was afraid I wouldn’t do him justice because I didn’t know him as well. Then he opened up to me, and I have to say, I love his story.
