Ciao, everybody. Are you having a good week?
I used to be a professor, and I currently write for two industry websites. Basically, I’m used to operating in teacher-mode. But this week, I started taking a mastermind class on backlist strategies for authors. I’m a student again! It’s a refreshing change. I feel my horizons expanding and my synapses firing. On top of all the work on my calendar, it makes for busy days. But I love the challenge.
Which brings me to the quote of the week:
It’s an eight-week course, and I’m only in the first week, but I’m excited about it. I don’t know where it will all lead, but I’m enjoying the ride. And that’s what I’m choosing to focus on.
What path are you traveling this week? Let’s talk about it.
And now, this week’s links:

Sounds like an interesting course, even if it’s a long one. Writing and blogging are what my weekend’s all about this time. Just finished the writing part, now I need to address some upcoming interviews.

I’ve got a lot on my plate this weekend, too. Wishing us both a productive one!

Learning something new is always exciting. I love to soak things up. Wishing you all the best with the course. I hope you garner a ton of valuable information from it.
My journey this week involves getting read for my book launch next week. I have a few pre-release posts making the rounds and they’ve been keeping me busy. Saturday we have a family outing to go to. It will be a nice break from all the writing-related activity. Happy Friday!

A family outing sounds fun. When I’m not working this weekend, I think I’ll be in the pool. (Yes, it’s FINALLY open!)

Yay! We’re still having crappy weather for the pool (I’ve been it once so far). Just got back from running errands and I have an hour before we head out for the get-together so I thought I’d play some catch up with email. Hope you have a fabulous pool day. I want one soon, LOL!

Didn’t get a pool day today (Saturday). Won’t tomorrow, either. I got hit with two surprise editing jobs. Maybe if I work late tonight, I can get in there tomorrow afternoon. But I’m kind of tired. We’ll see.
Hope you had/have fun at your get-together!

I’m glad the links are useful, but don’t you have a baby to go stare at? 😉

If I stare at her any harder, I’m afraid my eyeballs will pop right out of my head! OMG, I’m so excited! I can’t believe she’s finally here!! dancing everywhere I go, even knowing it’s not a pretty sight 😀 😀 😀

That sounds like a great course, Staci – hope you get some great ideas. You know what my journey has been this week, but today we’re headed out of town for the weekend with some friends. I’m ready for a mini-vacation.

Hope your course goes well for you, Staci! Thanks for the awesome links. This week, my journey has been about narrating my book Backstage for audiobook, and today, I start the arduous task of doing the audio editing. My writing muse is up and down at the moment, lols 🙂

That’s so cool! Audio is something I haven’t dealt with yet. One of my publishers has one of my titles on Audible. Another publisher of mine is working on doing that for my titles. They’re having trouble finding talent they like. I need male and female voices, or at least a woman who can pitch her voice differently. And being able to speak with an Italian accent is a plus. (If you know any good narrators, please let me know. I’ve asked around but only got one name so far.)
Wishing you all the best with your project!

Sounds like a fascinating course Staci! Look forward to hearing about it more when you finish. I am a big fan of learning and education and always try to add what I know. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Denise. It’s been a while since I took a class of any sort. I read a lot of craft books, but a course is a different kind of thing. It’s kind of nice not to be in the driver’s seat for a change. (And what teacher isn’t a fan of learning, right?)
Happy weekend!

It’s about how to market our backlist. My second class is today, and I’m really looking forward to it.
