Well, well, well. Look who finally has a couple of ducks in a row and is offering a pre-order on a book. You won’t believe it, but it’s me!
Next time I’ll try to have even more of a lead-in, but this time I’m working with a few days. Anyway, drumroll, please…
Ta-da!
Password is the first novel in the new Nightforce Security series, a spinoff of the Medici Protectorate series. In this installment, we’ll follow Danny Caruso. He made his debut in Mind Control and reappeared in Tortured Soul (coming soon). Not to let the Brothers out-do him, he insisted on his own body of work.
And here it is.
(Password is categorized in the romance and thriller genres.)
Blurb:
Some passwords protect more than just secrets.
Danny Caruso was glad to be back in the United States, back to his regular job. Back to his comfortable routine of all work and no play. But when his friend Mac asks a favor of him, he can’t refuse. He owes the guy everything. So he accepts the job, even though it means a twenty-four/seven protection detail guarding a particularly exacerbating—and beautiful—woman.
Braelyn Edwards is careful to stay out of the spotlight, preferring to hide in the background and skip the trappings of a vibrant social life. But her privacy is threatened when there’s an attempt on her life and a bodyguard is foisted on her. Compounding problems? He doesn’t just want to protect her. He wants to investigate every detail of her life, starting with her top-secret job.
Danny casts his sights on Charlie Park, her coworker, her partner… the one man who knows all Braelyn’s secrets. She’s frustrated by the distrust until she realizes jealousy fuels Danny’s suspicions as much as instinct and proof. One of them is right about Charlie—but by the time they figure it out, it may be too late to save their relationship. And Braelyn’s life.
Password is priced at $2.99 and releases on Monday, January 22, 2018, on most e-retailer sites. But you can preorder your copy today. Just click this link.
And stay tuned for the paperback release.
Congratulations, Staci. Your new book grabbed my attention within the first few lines of description. I look forward to reading it.

I am going to have to give it a try, too. Marketing has not been my strength either. I got my copy
of Password on preorder:)

Love the title, Staci, that’s an attention-grabber! I’m a fan of pre-orders, mainly because it’s great for snagging those impulse buyers! (Waving madly)
Best of luck with the new release!

Many thanks, Jacquie. I think I’d have done better with a longer window. Time will tell, I suppose. I’ll keep experimenting until I find the right thing for me, I guess.
And if you want to share tips, I’m always willing to listen. (And take copious notes!)

Lol, it’s all a crapshoot. The one thing I can recommend, is getting into multi-author box sets. There’s a number of benefits to this, but the largest (for me anyway) is the connection to readers who might never have tried you otherwise.
And always have a link to your newsletter in a prominent spot in your book!

I tried a box set once. My story got some of the best reviews in the bunch, but the experience was less than stellar on the whole. I might want to give it another try, though.
I do have my newsletter sign-up on my site (and a bunch of other places). I could probably play with the prominence of it, though. And, you know, actually use my newsletter.

Congratulations on both the book, and trying out the preorder thingie. I haven’t done that either, but consider this one GRABBED. I’m hoping to read the entire first series at a go, and I’ll have this one ready when I’m done. I’m trying to decide if I want to tackle preorders with my next book, since I already know there are readers waiting for it. I figure, why not give them a chance to read and review first? Good luck, and let us know how this goes for you. 🙂

Aw, thank you. This is the first time I’ve tried a preorder. I suspect I don’t have enough lead time, and I’m certain I don’t have the marketing machine in place. But it’s a step in the right direction.
